From the meeting on the 9 October 2022 

During  the meeting   mention was made of two documents.

1.  On  Gold paper, was  an opportunity  for  members of the community  to  indicate willingness  to  participate   in  one of the  current teams, or, to indicate  interest  in one of the activities  that  occur  during the week.

2. Second, a response  paper  for  members to  indicate  willingness to give energy and participation in  one or more of the many areas  identified by analysis  of the  ideas  shared  during consultation 1.  The 19 recommendations listed  in the report and elaborated upon in the appendix, are a distillation of  the interests  and ideas  from Consultation 1. It is now   time to see if  there is energy, from within the congregation, to take  steps  to initiate these recommendations. As was clarified in the meeting, without  sufficient resourcing  Morialta UC will not  be able to   commence  any of the  ideas.

Item 6.1 Information

Church Council endorsed the Working Group’s Report and Recommendations for presentation to the Meeting of the Congregation on Sunday 9 October. 

The responses on that day, and received in other forms, have been collated and considered and brought together in the Report and Recommendations.    They are insightful, wide ranging and adventurous in addressing the issue which prompted this discernment process, i.e. the budget deficit and reducing human resources.

Now you, especially if you are a member of the Congregation, will have opportunity to read and consider the recommendations.   You are welcome, if you wish, to send comments in advance of the meeting, together with any advice you consider helpful.  These may be sent to Bruce Ind, Chairperson, bruceind@mac.com 

The Meeting of the Congregation on 9 October will be very important and this stage of further Consultation in the discernment process will be a main agenda item.

It will be important to discuss where we, at Morialta Uniting Church, are going and what we will attempt to do, so we will give time to working on this necessary step of affirming our Mission and, hopefully, expanding our church family in the future.
